The Runway to Hope Spring Fashion Soiree is the organization’s signature fundraising event of the year! The highlight of the evening is an inspiring and heartwarming fashion show featuring more than 150 incredible and brave children, all of whom are currently battling or have overcome their pediatric cancer. Modeling much more than clothing, these courageous children walk the runway handin-hand with one of our national and local celebrity escorts.
Lisa Ling is currently the executive producer and host of This is Life on CNN. Five seasons prior, she did the same for Our America on OWN. Through these shows and as the former field correspondent for The Oprah Winfrey Show and contributor to ABC News’ Nightline and National Geographic’s Explorer, Ling has reported from dozens of countries, covering stories from gang rape in the Congo, bride burning in India, and the Lord’s Resistance Army in Uganda to America’s own drug addiction, PTSD, under-age sex trafficking, and anti-gay religious movements, among many other issues that are too often ignored. Together, Lisa and her sister, Laura, wrote two books: Mother, Daughter, Sister, Bride: Rituals of Womanhood and Somewhere Inside: One Sister’s Captivity in North Korea and the Other’s Fight to Bring Her Home. She is a co-founder of www.SecretSocietyofWomen.com, and a contributor to www.iVolunteer.org.
